Prashanti Nilayam (Supreme Peace) is an ashram located 800 meters above sea level in Puttaparthi (in the state of Andhra Pradesh) in India.
Being able to go to Prashanti Nilayam is certainly a fortune and a truly extraordinary grace from God.
Getting in touch with the immense energy of this place allows the seeker to rise spiritually and surely notice an incredible and sudden inner change.
Sathya Sai Baba's Ashram is the largest spiritual community in the world, there are tens (if not hundreds) of millions of pilgrims who come to this sacred place.
Here again, you can breathe the air saturated with love that the Avatar has created for almost a century.
Unlike the numerous ashrams scattered throughout India, where there is a strict discipline not suitable for most people, in Prashanti Nilayam you find yourself immediately at home.
The fantastic colors (Pink and Blue), the carved angels that welcome immediately put the pilgrim at ease.
Anyone who comes to this place for the first time is struck, even before the atmosphere, by feeling as if he has finally returned to a place where he has already been in the past.
There are numerous structures (including Western ones) that offer, albeit with the utmost respect and in the sacredness of the place, ease and comfort, in fact many families (with children and babies) come periodically to find the physical and mental refreshment that Prashanti Nilayam can give.
Thanks to the numerous buildings (Indian and Western canteens, libraries, lodgings, parks and gardens) every person, from the child to the elderly, finds his serenity. All this makes this community a "sacred city" and independent permeated with peace and love, where every day the right spiritual discipline, prayer and service are practiced.
Now we will show you a little guide to reach this ashram of Pure Love.
1) The first thing to do is definitely check your passport (valid for at least 6 months) and apply for a Visa at the Indian Consulate in Rome or Milan

For some years now, the E-VISA has also been available, which allows the traveler to obtain a Visa online, without waiting for the long bureaucratic procedures.

2) Having obtained these fundamental documents, we proceed to the choice of the airline (we recommend booking a few months in advance to find more advantageous offers) by choosing as a destination the airport of Bangalore (BLR-Bengaluru) as it is the closest to Puttaparthi.
3) Once in Bangalore, we move to Puttaparthi. The route lasts about two and a half hours. We recommend avoiding the use of buses or trains, but take a taxi that will be found at the airport exit (appropriately booked before departure from your country of origin). The car will drop you off directly in front of the Ashram's Accomodation Office.
To avoid price scams or any inconvenience to the type of car, we recommend a company that also speaks Italian, very serious with a really reasonable and honest quality-price ratio.

4) Once inside the ashram you will need to register immediately and you will be given the key to your room. You can choose more comfortable rooms with hot water or standard according to your needs. (There are also larger rooms for families. The cost of single room is around 100rs - 1.50 euros per night)
The rooms, even if clean, are obviously minimal, without sheets or other comforts. However you can buy them for a few pennies in the Bazaar within the Community. In Prashanti Nilayam (as well as in Puttaparthi) the food is strictly vegetarian and inside the ashram it is strictly forbidden to smoke, drink alcohol and introduce non-vegetarian food or drugs. We attach a fantastic video made by Radio Sai Global where it shows in a really exciting way a virtual tour of Puttaparthi and Prashanti Nilayam
